Each painting in this series follows the same format and set of rules. After the 8 x 8” canvas is painted in one solid color, I then used embroidery thread to stitch a unique geometric design into a square in the center of the painting. As a nod toward Josef Albers, this series served as a method of exploring color while blending genres of painting and embroidery.
